UNVEILING OF THE GUYANA MURAL
SECOND ANNUAL FUNDRAISER

My sincere thanks to all my special guests that attended this seasonal fundraiser for the country of Guyana.
The air outdoors had the touch of a slight cool rain against ones skin that morning, However, the mood indoors was mirroring the accelerated faces of smiles throughout the entire ceremony.

Our special guests arrived with such enthusiasm and heartfelt hopes for another mural fundraiser to make a change. Speaking of changes! My wonderful friends that surrounded our cause graced us with musical light that reflected the sounds of wonder, and hope. "The Kingsley Winter Band" composed the song for the unveiling mural titled: "Waiting For A Change" One can experience the delighted words from Don Halcombe, by his crisp guitar sounds, with Mike Johnson strummed joyous rhythms, with Bill Burke creating sweet sounds that complimented the spreading energy from Fernando Rivera with his spicy pleasure of beats from his congos! Tingling emotion from this band, I thank you all! In addition to our music hours I must again speak of Jim Canfield who created the beginning of our program with spiritual tones of courage. And then there is Ken Smith guitarist, song writer. Only words of encouragement " Second Chances" and "We Believe" the comfortable devotion in his words were also felt by the audiance.

Other Special Honored Guests: Fr. David Meng, Pastor of St Elizabeth Ann Seton Catholic Church.
Sharing our hope to others became a uplift from Father Meng. Ambassador Bayney Karran, Praise and such hope of thanks carassed his lips. Andrea Roane, WUSA9 news spoke of the Buddy Check 9 be there for your buddy, consider helping the unknown with encouragement. Dr. Susan Boylan,Radiation Oncology Center of Potomac Hospital reflected her emotion of personal experience, and also by her slides. ANd thank you to her son Thomas helping the projector. Supervisor PWCB.Corey Steward Chairperson spoke of the gentle change we must all make to one another. Michale May PWCB looks forward to the time of a cure with help by pulling together. My dear friend Howard Tucker, Vice President from NYC Business Capital traveled from the big apple to speak of feelings of compassion that we all keep in our hearts for the change. His experience, along with mine has been touched by the amazing hits by Frankie Valli and The Four Seasons. "My Eyes Adored You" are emotional roots we both shared with our loving parents.

Deacon Emil Myskowski was missed very much due to illness. Although, his presence was felt in my heart.
Jackie Ezersky, Religious Director, is a superstar in my eyes with energy that keep the children afloat as they approached their waiting time to paint! Thanks my dear Jackie.

I , too, had the wonderful honor to read letters from our Governor Robert F. McDonnell of Virginia regarding our children of the community. His kind, and appreciation was overwhelming to the families, the work of the children making a change afar. He is very proud of our Commonwealth.

Another addition of highlight that was read aloud was from our Virginia Congressman Gerald E. Connolly extending his proud appreciation of the children, and families. A resolution was attached to the House of Representatives honoring the 20th anniversary of Susan G Komen Nations Race for the Cure to help end this disease. Both of our government officials wish to be informed of future activities, and wish us continued success.

I am so very moved with the love that poured from the families to help with this mural project. Today, we stand together as a community with hope and song. We win with our hearts today.

And, we sense the beauty of the majestic rainforest in the Amazon of Guyana. Each stroke, each song that we listened to by the Jersey Babies created Gods beauty of nature. Children of America will continue come together to help other lands to overcome cancers by donations for the Georgetown Public Hospital in Guyana. All proceeds from the 4ft by 8ft mural will be raffled on June 6th at SEASCC on donnut sunday.

Again my grateful appreciation to Floyd Harrison, Publisher of the Lorton Valley Star. His dedication, his loyality to the community is a gift of heart. Another SUPERSTAR!!! thanks Floyd.
And to my son Brock Relyea, and daughter Danielle for believing in my mission for the cure! And to all my friends that attended this ceremony I will treasure your good wishes.
